Transforming trainee feedback into meaningful change
This year saw a big lift in MTS participation rates, with more than half Australia’s doctors in training completing the annual survey.
In 2026, 53% of doctors in training helped shape the future of medical education and training in Australia.
Thankyou! The Medical Board of Australia is grateful to every trainee who made time to do the 2026 MTS.

Why your voice matters
Every year, the Medical Training Survey (MTS) provides a national platform for doctors in training to share their experiences and perspectives of medical training in Australia.
Annual MTS results build a clear picture of what is working well and where improvements are needed.
Educators, employers, regulators and policymakers use MTS feedback to strengthen supervision, workplace culture, wellbeing, and learning environments for doctors in training.
The Medical Board of Australia runs the MTS with strict privacy protections to ensure responses remain confidential. The survey was designed withand for doctors in training and will continue to evolve based on your feedback.
If you have suggestions to improve the MTS, please share your ideas with us at MTS@ahpra.gov.au.
